At the onset of Wamade, a start-up specializing in offering authentic Wayuu bags from Colombia in Australia, I was presented with an exciting branding challenge. The brief called for a logo and color palette that could strike the perfect balance between modern appeal and a reflection of the indigenous Wayuu culture. My task was to create a design that would be both alluring and unique, avoiding clichés while honoring the origins of the Wayuu culture.
I created a logo that ingeniously integrated the essence of Wayuu patterns through the use of basic geometric shapes. This resulted in a captivating visual that celebrated the heritage of Wayuu while remaining contemporary and adaptable to Wamade's modern branding concept. The font selection further accentuated this fusion, exuding a sense of cultural authenticity.
Understanding the need for versatility, I developed various logo variations that catered to any potential future applications for the brand. This thoughtful consideration ensured that Wamade's visual identity could seamlessly adapt across a myriad of contexts, reinforcing its unique presence in the market.
